Mohit Nagar (“Developer”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) built the SoS India app as an emergency assistance application. This app is provided at no cost and is intended for use as-is.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the SoS India mobile application.

SoS India does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers.

The app functions entirely on the user’s device and only accesses information that is strictly required to provide emergency SOS features.

The following information may be accessed temporarily and locally on your device:

  • Current location (to share with emergency contacts)

  • Emergency contact phone numbers (entered by the user)

All data remains on your device only. No information is sent to the developer or any third party.

2. Permissions Used

SoS India requests the following permissions solely to enable core SOS functionality:

  • Location Permission

    • Used to fetch your current location during an SOS emergency.

    • Shared only via SMS with your selected emergency contacts.

  • Phone Permission

    • Used to directly call the emergency contact number when SOS is triggered.

  • SMS Permission

    • Used to send an SOS message containing your current location to emergency contacts.

These permissions are used only when the SOS feature is activated by the user.

3. No Account Required

  • The app does not require user registration or login.

  • No usernames, passwords, or profiles are created.

4. Data Storage

  • Emergency contact numbers are stored locally on the user’s device.

  • The app does not store any data on external servers.

  • The developer has no access to user data.

5. Third-Party Services

SoS India:

  • Does not use third-party SDKs or services

  • Does not use analytics tools

  • Does not use advertising services

  • Does not share data with any third party

6. Children’s Privacy

SoS India is suitable for a mixed audience, including minors.

  • The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

  • Since no data is collected or transmitted, there is no risk of misuse of children’s data.

7. Data Security

Because the app does not collect or transmit data:

  • There is no external data storage

  • There is no risk of server breaches related to user information

Users are responsible for securing their own devices.

8. User Control

  • Users can update or delete emergency contacts at any time.

  • Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

9. Legal Compliance

This app follows standard privacy principles and is designed to align with:

  • GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) principles

  • CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) principles

Since no personal data is collected or processed, most regulatory obligations do not apply.
